The centerpiece of Khor Virap is the ancient monastery complex, which dates back to the 7th century. Stepping onto the grounds, you'll be greeted by the imposing stone walls, serene courtyards, and the distinctive architecture of Armenian religious structures.

The highlight of the site is the deep pit, known as the "dungeon," where Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years before miraculously healing King Trdat III. This event marked the beginning of Armenia's conversion to Christianity, making Khor Virap a sacred and revered pilgrimage site.
